It's just one season. Better to have a team with players he is familiar with to help with the transition like NT80 jokingly said. I hope you guys aren't disrespecting Rubin. He could have left much sooner, but stuck with the Mean Green. I wish him luck in whatever he does next. -

Four Non-Power Conference Teams Got At-Large Bids
My guess is that we will continue to see all at-large bids go to power conferences, especially after 14 out of 16 SEC teams got invitations this year. Each mid-major or low-major conference seems to have a Memphis, High Point, or McNeese that are always picked to breeze through their conference schedule and tournament. We have a chance in the AAC because Memphis is inconsistent, but money may tilt it much further in their favor in the future until they jump ship. Why can't we at least find a way to get non-con teams to play us like Memphis did? We have the respect of P5 teams in that they don't want to play us, but what about those that organize non-con tournaments? It seems like something could be done if we just embraced the fact that we are increasingly a BASKETBALL SCHOOL. A basketball school in a football state I guess. -
