Thought I would post this up, the first round schedule for the Stars-Avs series.

1 Wed., April 7 Dallas at Colorado 9 p.m.

2 Fri., April 9 Dallas at Colorado 8:30 p.m.

3 Mon., April 12 Colorado at Dallas 7 p.m.

4 Wed., April 14 Colorado at Dallas 6:30 p.m.

5 Sat., April 17 Dallas at Colorado* 2 p.m.

6 Sun., April 18 Colorado at Dallas* TBA

7 Tue., April 20 Dallas at Colorado* TBA

This series worries me with the way the Stars played on the road and especially the Avs this year. They have to go into the Pepsi Cente, a place they didn't do well at this year, and win 1 or 2 games there. Also depends on which Stars team shows up during the series.

Playoff Hockey is here!!!! laugh.gif

The Avs are actually much better on the road (21-8-7-5) than at home (19-14-6-2)!

This will hopefully help things for us! They are also 2-5-1-2 in their last 10 games, so they are not exactly lighting it up!!! Add in the fact they do not have a playoff-tested netminder and I think our chances look pretty good!!!!

GO Stars!!!!!!!

I hope you are RIght!

It looks like a tough first two rounds. If we get past the Avs, we should be facing Detroit in the second round.

The good news is if we make out of the first two rounds there is no reason the Stars can't go all the way!

We would have to play Detroit in the 2nd round, unless there is an upset in the other 2 series. I think St. Louis or Calgary has a good shot at an upset in the 1st round.

Man did we get pounded!

The Stars did not look hungry at all, except when we were on the penalty kill! If the Stars don't find a better way to motivate themselves it is all over sad.gifsad.gifph34r.gifph34r.gifmad.gifmad.gif

That was a hard game to watch, I mean we officially out shot them but many of the shots I saw were long.

I sure hope for a better show on Friday

Yeah, main problems were that they didn't get enough traffic in front of the net to get rebounds and the defense collapsed several times during the game in front of Marty Turco. The Stars might have gotten 38 shots, but alot of them were w/ no traffic in front of the net and were shot from the perimeters(low percentage shots). One big thing if they want to win this series is that they need to wake up that idle road power play. 5 chances w/ the extra man, and they weren't able to break through. They are on a 0 for 39 skid on the road power play.

Bottom line was that the Avs big players were able to capitalize on their opportunities and the Stars big players weren't. But you have to also remember that historically the Stars are a horrible Game 1 team.

That is really a scary stat! ohmy.gifohmy.gifohmy.gif

I thought our coach, Dave Tippett, was supposed to be some kind of power play guru?

Yeah, this game was a mess! 2 of the goals were a little flukey, but our Defense stunk it up all night long!

I agree with NTEagle that we need to crash the net and get some of those rebounds past Aebescher!

The Avs on the other hand, had plenty of traffic in front of Marty.

Yes, hopefully Friday will be a better game! I'll be watching from Sunny Lake Havasu! biggrin.gif

Is Lake Havasu in Oklahoma?

Will there be hockey on TV?

ON THE BRIGHT SIDE, according to my radio, every-time we have matched up against the Avs in the post season we have lost the opening game but managed to win the series. I believe they said we have done it three times.

Lake Havasu is basically the Colorado river; It's on the Cali/Arizona Border.

IT's a BIG Spring break lake!

I'm actually going with the GF and my family.... It's in the desert so the water is very clear and clean.

I'll be heading to a sportsbar there to watch the game!

Tippett should play Aaron Downey Friday night. Take Guerin, Arnott, Downey, and tell them that when ever the puck is in the Avs in, to make a campfire in front of the goal and to not move. Then tell the other 4 to shoot the puck at least 2 feet off the ground or not at all.

I'm sick over this loss, and I feel like the ticket guys are jinxing the team by talking trash about them all day long!!! mad.gif I just hope they pull out a win Friday so they can go home and take care of business. I can easily see a game 7 now, but hopefully they can still take care of it in 6. I think people are over reacting big time.

Ok that rings a bell, is that where the London Bridge was relocated?

Have fun!

I really hope the Stars pull it together, I was looking forward to a long post season.

Is it just me or was there 13 power plays in the Friday night game?

I watched the Wednesday night game, the blues & Sharks game Thursday and Fridays game and I saw something like 35 total power plays.

I don't remember ever seeing this kind of penalty play in the playoffs in years past. In fact I have always been taken by the lack of penalties and clean play in the playoffs. But this year it seems like a penalty frenzy, is it the play or is it the officials??

and what's with the "Too many men on the ice" penalties. I think the refs are trying to set a record for calling it in every game.

Isn't that something that shouldn't be happening at all, but for darn sure not in the playoffs? Luckily they've been calling it on both sides.

You are right they had that last night also, but you know I don't know how you get that call. I mean every shift guys are coming and going at the same time on the ice. I just wonder what the line is with the officials????
