I mean if we win out till the conference final and lose to Memphis in a close game, we would definitely be looked at - but the lack of quality wins would hurt us a lot. I think it'd be 50/50.
You're right—they don't care.
And they'll never start caring unless they're educated on why they should care.
Hence the importance of promotion...

People need a reason to break their weekly habits and explore something new. Promoting the program's success in a timely and exciting way while simultaneously making people feel like they're needed and extending a clear invitation is a great way to start to make more people interested in showing up.
If you never give people a reason, they'll never break their habits of ignoring the program.
So, the AD has two options:
Don't promote. Don't see an increase in community care. Continue to wonder why attendance and revenue are flat.
Promote regularly year after year. Generate an increase in community care. Celebrate rising attendance and revenue.
It's frustrating to see them continually choose #1.
The other terrible call was against, I believe Floyd, when Mash Jr. shot a three from the corner and kicked his leg out creating contact. I seem to recall this being called against Tylor Perry in an NIT game a couple of years ago. Floyd was a foot in front of him when he released the ball.
Another ridiculous call went against Wright in the first half when he placed his hand on the chest of Picarelli and Picarelli flopped his head back like Wright had hit him with an uppercut. They reviewed the call to see if it was flagrant, it wasn't, but you know the refs are looking at that thinking, "Man, that was a bad call."
Lorient, as I understand it, was pretty much a bench player last season at FAU. He rarely got in a game. I think we are going to see him put on a demonstration of what could have been had the FAU coaches used him differently. Having said that, FAU had a very good year so it’s hard to question the coaching, unless you’re Brenen Lorient.
