DRC: UNT will have its best shot when it hosts Houston and will also travel to Cal. Basketball season could also offer opportunities

How has UNT cut down on the number of P5 teams? There still seems to be one on the schedule every year right now through the year 2030 outside of 2023.  Since 2008, we have played 2 "P5" programs in the same season twice. That's 2 of the last 11 seasons. Now the concept of the scheduling has changed as far as literally always going to them outside of 2003 Baylor, but the games vs those opponents are still intact. We are still playing "opportunity" games vs Mizz and ATM as well. But now we have H/H's vs the likes of Tech, Baylor and Cal.

2003: Oklahoma, Baylor, Arkansas

2004: Texas, Colorado, Baylor

2005: Kansas State, LSU

2007: Oklahoma, Arkansas

2008: Kansas State, LSU

2010: Clemson, Kansas State

2011: Alabama, Indiana

2012: LSU, Kansas State

2014: Texas, Indiana

2015: Iowa, Tennessee

UNT played at least two P5s in 10 seasons over a 13-year span beginning in 2003, but hasn't played more than one in a season since 2015.

Several of those do not fall into the "body bag" game genre.  Indiana, home and home. Kansas State, home and home. As I previously stated, the Baylor series was a home and home. The 2015 season slipped by me. And I only looked as far as 2008 as that's what is referenced on fbschedules.com. So it's a reach to pigeonhole all of those into the same category. The casual fan this upcoming season will assume next years @Cal game is under the same umbrella of selling ourselves to pay rent, until they see them come back around on the home slate in a couple years. You're sort of doing the same thing here. Throwing out the names of the programs in reference to all being body bag or opportunity games.

So, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2014 are parts of home/home's. As is 2003/04.

I with Brett here. He never said they were bodybag games. He only said that UNT has cut down on the number of games in which we play P5 schools. All those teams may not be powerhouse football programs, but they are part of a P5 conference. We went from three a year to one a year. That is cutting down the number.

I never said anything about whether they were "body bag" games or part of home-and-home series. I said UNT "has cut down dramatically on the number of games it plays against Power Five teams" and thus opportunities for wins that will garner national attention.

That is clearly the case.

Exactly. I agree with what you said. I think there was an assumption that you were trying to relate them to bodybag games.
