If we switch to more of a hurry up offense, I can pretty much guarantee that statistically the defense will look much worse this year.    I would bet that defensive coordinators privately hate hurry up offenses in general, because they do artificially inflate the defensive stats (except for things like yards per play).

I believe OC Reeder does a lot of variation in his tempo. And he does variation for just this reason. Also to know when the D is gassing and when they're prepped with right personnel. It's not full throttle from start to end.

What if the defense just gets a sack on every single opponent snap? I think that puts all this discussion to rest.
