I believe when he committed he was an 84. Now it shows 86.

Yes, they did raise his rating.  And that actually ended up raising UNT's class ranking back to 1st in CUSA.  How easily these numbers get changed.🤣

At least he has been hitting the summer camp circuit and showing he has the talent.

I saw that three players became 4 stars four days after committing to OU. That must have been one hell of a growth spurt!

The rating system is a joke.

I am a proponent of rating classes down the road a couple of years to see how they develop, because I historically have thought the same,  My opinion was based on Rivals system of just changing stars based upon who was offering or where the young man committed.  Now, there  are so many camps where these young men are able to show their talent that I believe 247 is much more accurate.  In fact, there is an article on 247 now about a new batch of players with improved ratings based on their performances at recent camps which is how Renfro has improved his overall rating.

247 is the most up to date and accurate recruiting service.

Rivals only rates kids when they have a paid recruiting person for that team. That's why teams like UTSA and LaTech always have the best Rivals ratings

For reference, our Rivals ranking is 87

UTSA is 76 with 7 less recruits

LaTech is 39

Yep and even Rivals admitted to me years ago that they will give or takeaway stars based upon where a recruit signs/commits.  They are a joke.
