In this format the benefit of the bye is mostly avoiding the single elimination knock out round. (See: WKU)

Also, while pitchers can theoretically go every game it is far from ideal when multiple games per day are clustered together in consecutive days. 

No more room for error tomorrow. Have to go 2-0. Still don’t even know the opponent as MTSU/La Tech was pushed back to this evening.

muts pitcher Kailey Ahlstrom took the loss today against La Tech.  She gave up 4 runs on 8 hits in three innings.  Then they replaced her with Corrina Dodd to pitch the 4th and she couldn’t get 3 outs befor La Tech put another 6 runs on the board.

Ahlstron has pitched 17 innings since Wednesday and I’m sure she’s starting to feel it now..  Due to that and the fact we only saw Dodd for 5 innings, scoring 2 runs on 8 hits last weekend,...is why I suspect we’ll see Dodd tomorrow?

Looks like the Lady MUTS are throwing Ahlstrom.  We need to jump on her early as they obviously don't have a lot of confidence in Dodd.

I knew I shouldn’t have posted how well it was going for us.  Muts follows a hit batter..(we had three yesterday)..with a double and a triple.  

Tied ballgame 2-2 gointo the bottom of the 5th.

The plate ump it all over the place with his strike zone.  With Katie Clark facing a 3-1 count the next pitch is so inside she had to jump nearly out of the box and the guy calls it a ball.  Next pitch Clark grounds out to 3rd.  

I don’t know if it’s the weather or what but it’s like our shoe strings are all tied together.  Things just do not seem right with us..

And Malawi tags up at third on a caught deep foul ball down 1st baseline, slides in at home beating  no tag attempt, misses the plate but gets up and sneaks back to touch it because the catcher didn’t know she had missed it and never tried to tag her.

4-2 Mean Green top of the 7th.  Need 3 outs.

      I think what Odom was running at USC was a 3-3-5 that had a “RUSH” position serving as a hybrid DE/LB, so really only 2 second level linebackers, making it similar to a 4-2-5 in effect. Different from Caponi’s 3-3-5 stack.       ***OFFICIAL UNT vs. UTSA IN-GAME DISCUSSION***

      Offense lacks a vertical passing game. People have raved about the top 5 offense in passing yards per game but per the NCAA website and ESPN (NCAA is more precise with some of the numbers), CM is 48th in yards per completion at 12.37 YPC, 41st in yards per attempt at 7.85 YPA, 45th in completion percentage at 63.7%, and tied for second in pass attempts at 422. The numbers show we don't push the ball downfield as much as others and that we aren't efficient enough considering how little we do that. Being top 5 in passing yards is simply a volume stat at this point. We just throw a ton. Screens are great but when it's most of what you do, it gets dicey. Those and run plays start off as negative yardage plays dependent on blocking. Can't have those every drive. About teams figuring out EM, our competition has gotten better.
