Personal records?  North Texas’ participation in track meets is to achieve personal records?  Why not bring in athletes who can “win” an event?  Win a track meet.  Now that’s a novel idea.  UNT need to win in these sports.  Not just participate and achieve personal records. Recruit athletes who can win events.

I agree 100%, but Coach Sheffield has just been given a facility to recruit these athletes to instead of running them all over God's green earth looking for a high school track to practice on.  I would love to see how the new facility improves recruiting because I think Coach Sheffield is a great coach and a great representative of UNT.

It seems to me that track has improved significantly this year.  Hopefully a sign of better things to come.

I think that the new facility has already helped recruit a little better athletes.

This should continue to get better, there is no reason NT can't dominate the league in a partial scholarship sport because of location in the DFW area.

I do agree with Deep on the point that track meets except  conference meets are not viewed as team events anymore.   A lot of them don't even compute team scores.
