If you have watched much of the season, this is pretty typical, score in the first quarter, then just disappear on the offensive end for the next 3 quarters.  Great defense has saved them in a lot of games, but they had no energy at all in the second half.

App St. was just a much better team.

Losing Bradley and Smith is going to hurt next year.  Mitchell's recruiting class is going to have to be stellar to move this program upward.

The recruits look promising, but it is difficult to get any kind of track on girl basketball players.  Beyond the top recruited players, there is little data available.

For a little context, Appalachian state went 3-1 against CUSA. All three wins against CUSA teams were at home as well.

  • @UAB - L, 80-61
  • v. Marshall - W, 74-52
  • v. Marshall (WBI) - W, 83-71
  • v. North Texas (WBI) - W, 76-59

How is that a Sun Belt team is out working the CUSA teams? I thought we got out of the Sun Belt for a better conference?

To expect all CUSA teams to be better than all Sun Belt teams is a bit of a high and mighty position to take, don't you think?

To not say it would imply that the conferences are interchangeable, which just makes the situation North Texas is currently in that much worse.
