It's really a small world. We are currently on vacation in Dublin, and I ran into a couple wearing North Texas gear. I yelled out Go Mean Green and talked to them for a few mins. It's really cool running into alumni in other countries.

We are everywhere. I currently work with another alum here in Kansas

Were they wearing a Mean Green hat?  Seven years ago I lost a North Texas hat in Dublin.  I hope someone is enjoying it.

Haha that's funny, but no they were not.

We have such an incredibly large, amazing alumni base.  We are a large school that has for the most part been given nothing to cheer for for decades.

It's scary to think what a decade+ of winning + good culture could do for our fanbase.

Ran into one wearing a UNT hat at the top of Observation Point in Zion NP last year and had a 45 min conversation about the status of the programs.  People need to give a shout out to each other in public...even in DFW (Denton maybe being the exception).  The more they feel like "they belong" to a community the more they will be active in it.

The biggest thing is that our brand is finally making waves across the state. People want to buy our merchandise, which helps us all feel interconnected with each other in real life (not online).

@jtm0097 what are your recommendations for site seeing and places to visit?

The AD said I was the only MGC member in Utah but hope to be bringing the Green to Alaska soon.

I was skiing in CA once and heard a GMG! from someone going up on the lift. Always brings a smile to hear that shout out.
