So what does everybody think of this? 8 years is a lot but I suppose we could look back on it someday and say we got a steel. I'll be interested in seeing just what the coaching staff says his prospects are of starting him ever this season.

I don't understand bringing in another "project" quarterback. Henson was great in college, 8 YEARS AGO! I just don't see it working or why Jones didn't try to find a veteran to help out Carter. I hope for the best, but damn, i'm confused. unsure.gif

You know I don't much about Drew Henson but one thing that does make me feel a little better is Parcells is part of the process now.

Oh by the way Drew Henson played football for Michigan through the 2000 season. So that means he has only missed three seasons.

The only redeeming factor in this is that Parcells is involved, but this seems like another Jerry project.

It does seem like another Jerry project, but I doubt he would even be here if Parcells didn't see some talent in him. Also, don't expect Parcells to let him off the practice squad if he doesn't deserve it, look at what he did with Chad.

Also, look who backed him up in college and where he is.

Except that Henson probably won't even be a major contributor to this team until after Parcells is gone. We saw with Hutchinson that you can't just throw a guy who hasn't played football in 3 years in the NFL and except him to contribute and improve. Unless he is just an unbelievable talent and can step in immediately he won't play much, if any. And I doubt he is an unbelievable talent or otherwise he would have commanded more than a 3rd round pick in next years draft.

BTW, players on the practice squad can be signed by other teams, so he isn't going to be on the practice squad. He will be on the roster or he will get sent to NFL Europe like Hutchinson, which wouldn't make sense to have two multimillion dollar QBs on a different continent.

I bet he has talent, Brady was a 6th round pick also and now has 2 Super Bowl rings. Sometimes you find a diamond in the rough. It wouldn't suprise me if they sent him to Europe to get some experience since I doubt he could beat out the more experienced Quincy and win 10 games.
