Worrisome, you build D from inside out.

Yeah.  Not sure how to solve this.  Maybe the hardest position, along with the offensive LT, to recruit

I’m starting to think getting a good one more than once every 4-5 years would be a freakin’ miracle.

Yep, OU diehards will tell you this is what been killing their D the past few years. They don't have those DTs like they use to.

Yeah, those freaks of nature AKA the Selmon brothers got OU fans kind of spoiled.

I know it's said that the DL is the most difficult position group to recruit. And there is probably truth to that. But the way to do it is volume recruit the best guys in that group you can get.

Example, UCF signed 7 DL in this class...1/3 of their class was committed to the DL. They had 9 committed and wanted all 9, but had them cherry picked from them last minute and they back filled with a corner and a skill guy. So UCF went into NSD with the intent to sign almost 50% of their class being DL. Meanwhile, we signed 3. And the excuse will be when teams are whipping us up front that our system is made for shootouts, etc. Though there may be some truth to that, but the fact is that the recruiting staff and HC are not making this group a priority when it matters most, NSD.
