It's a tough question.  We saw during the bowl game that Bean was the coaches' first option.  Martin outperformed Bean during the bowl game, but there are at least two ways of looking at that: (1) It's a small sample size; the coaches saw more from Bean throughout the season; or (2) Bean is a better practice QB, Martin is a better gameday QB.  Aune is a darkhorse/wildcard, but we've had a few of those in recent years--pedigreed, experienced, but took a very roundabout route to UNT (think Brock Berglund or Damarcus Smith)--and they don't seem to work out.  Kuehne would really have to be lights out to win the backup spot as a true freshman.

      F. Come on Jared you have to be on top of this! Be relentless about your highly visible incredibly important slice of the university. You know business you know marketing. You know naysayers and roadblocks. You know it’s more than a coach that receives incredible recognition. It’s risk taking. It’s looking fear in the face because once you do that fear disappears. It’s gone. Demand the best for your athletics and people will fill your stadiums and arena. Get in their face tell them what you need and get this university the Athletic profile it deserves and has earned. GMG

      Still have at least four audacity North Texas glasses in my household rotation. Not the greatest beer but I certainly appreciated their love for UNT.

      You imply that it was a tightly contested ball game... It really wasn't. They shot nearly 50% from the field vs our 34%. We had 21 more attempts at the basket than them due to them having 17 freaking turnovers to our 5. Rebounding was about even....they doubled us up on assists (18-9) which suggests they had ua chasing, and we often were. Every metric here suggests that they are superior than us. It felt like we got our ass whipped... but lost by 2. Their carelessness with the basketball prevented this from being a true 10-15 point ass whippin'.

      Transfer portal news

      Totally prepared to get blasted for this, but it is something that has always drove me nuts. Cle State would be considered a lesser program and play in a lesser conference, no? They performed at an above average level, not winning the conf or advancing beyond a few rounds of CBI. Wouldnt there be concern for bringing in a slew of players, that played in that system, in a lesser league, against lesser talent, with mid to moderate results? I’m not necessarily knocking the players, but the mentality of “I hope he brings XYZ players with him”. If they couldn’t dominate the Horizon, how are they going to fare in the AAC?
