Do people lie? Yes?

It is therefore illogical to believe every person who claims to be a survivor of sexual assault. HOWEVER, those that can corroborate their story should 100% be believed, and rapists/assailants should be castrated.

Totally agree.  However, corroboration of what is usually a private event is usually difficult.  Do we still assume innocence until guilt is proven?

Many times we don't but we should.

Very rarely. More and more political agendas are more important to individuals and groups. How many time have you heard lately "well if they didn't do this they probably did something else"? It seems like it has become a case where innocence needs to be proven, and if the accuser lied, so what.

Yes we absolutely should! If we don't it's literally the end of the American system of justice.

Some real good back and forth here that has little to any connection to the actual editorial.

At least something good coming from the article 🙄

Yes. Eye opening discourse about giving men the right to a fair trial has changed my mind about the college student's editorial that asks for more women's claims to be taken seriously enough to lead to a fair trial - right down to making most rape claims somehow political because you saw a few on the TV lately.

That was an unexpected wrinkle to a throwaway comment. My apologies

None needed.  I just wanted to use the word "lissencephaly" for the first time ever. 👍
