I emailed multiple CUSA officials already and I have video of the last play. It should have gone into overtime. Horrible calls around. These refs cost our conference any chance at having a top 25 team

Just looking over their schedule nUTSAck played UTEP twice in three days for some reason? Beating the Miners both times, first by 15,...Second by 4.

They lost to Tex St earlier in the year.

They squeezed by DII Southeastern Ok St by 3.

Beat Rice by 16 tonight.

That last game before conference play may have been a win, but it was only by 3 points against a Division II School. Wouldn’t include that game as evidence of a good stretch.

Tomorrow's game looks scary if we're not on our game and in the right frame of mind. If this team has a killer instinct somewhere inside them, tomorrow would be a great time to unveil it. We need to pluck those birds...pluck 'em good! Early and often!! This is not the game to find ourselves playing from behind in the last five minutes of the game.

It was a close game last year and they’ve won 6 straight I believe. Teams are gunning for North Texas, I don’t see any gimme games on the schedule

Well, North Texas is rolling right along, but if you’re a pessimist you’ll point to the fact that they haven’t gotten past 65 points in any of their last three games, and none of those three wins came by more than seven points.

in those same last three games, North Texas has shot under their average (47.9%):

  • LaTech - 45%
  • Southern Miss - 44%
  • UTEP - 41%

      NCAA proposes new rules to allow direct payments to players

      Non-scholarship level? You know that's D3, right? To the general sentiment of your point, I tend to agree. UNT football is sort of a joke punchline. I was never sure it would ever do much, but I was somewhat hopeful. With the landscape the way it is, I am all but certain that UNT football will never be much of a anything. Even if we one day have a 2016 Western Michigan type year the market conditions would breakdown our roster as fast as humanly possible. It is literally impossible, with our terrible support and low football NIL to ever have even a smidgen of sustainability. Frankly, as I've said before, given our recruiting pecking order throughout the state and region we will never even sniff a 2016 WMU type season, IMO. I'm not sure how anyone could dispute this outside of ignorance/hope. So, the university athletics is clearly standing at a Y in the road... What to do? Keep kicking the can down the street and faking it while trying to swindle any possible donor they can? Or make wholesale changes to dress our athletic front porch up. From the looks of it, our basketball program might be heading back down into mediocrity... Are we going to do anything about it? Or just be bad to mediocre in EVERYTHING we do?

      Ugly truth is we have no chance whatsoever the way the system is set up right now. The University sure won't pony up and neither with the donor based on the hires we have made.

      More than 4 decades ago Corky Nelson told a meeting that North Texas highest aspiration could only be to become the best of the bottom 100 programs in D- 1 , anything else was delusional. Corky saved football at North Texas with dedicated coaches that could operate on very limited resources. Do not deceive yourself that this program can exist even in FCS form w/o football. Any attempt to drop football will only result to a drop to non scholarship competition. This level of athletics for a school the size of NT would be a disgrace and make us even more the laughingstock of this state

      Spring Practice Updates

      My question is how does this effect their academics? Does he stay through the end of the semester, or does he leave once he enters the portal? Once entering the portal, any aid from North Texas should cease immediately as well as any NIL payments.
