2018 C-USA Bowl Season

With FIU’s win over Toledo in the Bahamas Bowl C-USA is now 3-2 in bowl games this year with 1 more to go with Hawaii vs  La Tech.

And with La Tech’s win over Hawaii tonight C-USA finishes the bowl season a very respectable 4-2.

One thing of note,...Ferguson broke Terrell Suggs’ all time record for career sacks tonight.  It now stands at 45.  La Tech set the Hawaii Bowl record at 9.  

La Tech has now won 5 straight bowl games in a row.

I applaud and must admit a bit of green envy at troys and la techs bowl seasons. THey are a very different season and both those teams rise up and show incredibly well. They look confident, poised, prepared and strong. You can see the opponent wilting as the game progresses. They mess you up physically and mentally.  Eventually the other team starts backing down. 

Proud of our cusa brethren. I look forward to replicating that great feeling in the last game one day again soon.

Good overall showing by CUSA.  NT did play the best team of the bunch without its main two offensive weapons.  

Excuses, however are easy; NT needs to get over the "big game" hump next year.

Skip Holtz is a better head coach than Seth Littrell.

Agreed.

He's the best coach we've had in years. He'd be an even better coach if he could ever win anything that mattered.

Some of the games best coaches lost a lot of bowl games.

Different people have different ideas about what games matter. I think he’s won some meaningful games. You don’t.

Realistically we only have the chance to compete for conference championships and bowl games. SL hasn’t been able to accomplish either of those things. Beating SMU or UTSA during the regular season is great and all but it’s not going to get us where we need to be.

Getting as many conference championships and bowl wins so that we have a decent case when realignment comes along. Even that might not be enough, but its our only play.
