Believe USU game plan was to take Fine out and they accomplished it.   That school should be embarrassed at the poor sportsmanship show they put on.

By the way, I don't think NT would have been competitive even with Fine.

How exactly did USU pull his hammy??

Agree on the 2nd part.  I think this was going to be pretty bad regardless.

Take things very literal I see.   Two almost consecutive roughing the QB penalties and he pulled the hamstring running for his life.

It appeared that Fine was injured before the game, and it was a matter of time before he was out of the game.

That hammy had been bothering him all season.  It's not surprising it was re-aggravated with the time off.  Hamstring injuries take a while until they can get right.

They definitely took some cheap shots on Fine though, without a damn doubt. Littrell has much more composure than I do because I'd come out swinging if they hit my qb the way they did.  But their whole team was undisciplined throughout the game.  It was obvious they didn't have a head coach.  Just rabid damn dogs.

I read this article back in November when it came out, and thought to myself "well, it's a good thing that they probably won't play in any bowls that we might be in".

And a few weeks later (after blowing a 28 point lead to ODU and our best offensive weapon went down in the UTSA game)  when our bowl (and opponent) was announced, this was my reaction...…...😲.

He was the 2018 New Mexico bowl MVP and this is posted under that original thread….

I thought you were posting they just scored on us again. I was thinking that was seriously uncalled for.
