This game shows the good and bad of our coaching staff.  The good is that we've won a lot more games the past few years than you would expect from our talent level.  The bad is that, until this year, we didn't recruit good enough talent.

When our defense gets turnovers, we don't say the other team is beating themselves, right? Somebody forced those turnovers in almost every case. And look, i'm as disappointed as anybody right now

Unless there is a awesome turnaround, SL is 0-3 in bowl games, two of which were embarrassments.. Prolong him a year, but no need to increase to more than the 1.4 million he is already got. Really none.

I still have my concerns about the level of talent we are getting in the trenches. We have to get much better on both lines.

I was ripped after the la tech game saying that is staff can't win a big game.....  I still stand by my comment.  Can't believe people talked about heisman , expanding the staidum,  undeafted season.  Love my mean green but something has to change.

I'm not sure we could do any better... We're one bad coach hire away from being back in the cellar. Remember 3 years removed from 1-11. I totally get the frustration though.

No excuses, I agree.... getting whipped by one of the best offenses in the country. This ain't UTEP.

To be fair, Fine was out for the first bowl game which we lost in OT.  A healthy Fine and we win that game going away.  

Utah St. is just bigger, faster, stronger than us. They are the best team we've played all year.

Any salary increase should be withheld and given to the fans who actually traveled to watch the ****show in person.

      MGN: Post game recap

      Really they didn’t even try. The stats back this up. Our RBs had 12 carries for 53 yards. That’s a respectable 4.4 yards per carry. Not amazing but solid enough to take a little pressure off the passing game. By comparison, TxSt averaged 4.6 but they ended up with over 200 yards because they stuck with the run. The running game didn’t struggle. Morris gave up on it before it could struggle because he doesn’t value the run game. Or he was so intimidated by a SunBelt team that he panicked?

      We picked the wrong quarterback

      The problem wasn’t the QB but rather the game plan. Or more specifically the head coach. I still don’t understand why you build your game plan around a rookie walk-on qb. They barely even tried to run the ball. The stat sheet shows 25 rushing attempts but around 6-7 of those were passing plays when the qb scrambled due to the breakdown of the pass blocking or that abortion of a WR pass with Young. Our RBs had 12 carries. Twelve. Stupid.

      MGN: Post game recap

      Run game definitely struggled. Observation from a lowly fan was the center's snaps were not crisp. There was the bad snap that hit the turf that Mestemaker recovered but there were several others that weren't on target that visibly caused timing to be off. Couple that with the DL regularly being in our backfield right after the snap and it's hard to run. I may be mixing games but I think even remember a TX State player practically meeting our RB at a hand-off. Mestemaker pulled it back and got taken down by a few defenders but there was just no room to get things going on the ground.

      Untjim: Texas/Oklahoma doesn't produce great linemen anymore so we can't have great defenses. Me: how does UTSA and Texas State do it? Rick: defense Untjim: he doesn't want to hear it Hear what? Y'all are simultaneously saying the state doesn't produce great linemen which is necessary for a good defense but then say other G5 teams in our same state with our same pool of players are succeeding because of defense. Again, if they can do it why can't we? What's their excuse?
