We technically had a 10-win season in 1977 (I think), but one of those wins came via a forfeit by Mississippi State.

It's not exactly an apples-to-apples comparison to have a double digit win season now, considering 12-game seasons are a relatively new development, as are conference championship games and bowl games for over 70 teams.

Appreciate the publicity, but article was definitely a little short on research.   I wonder what major bowl NT missed out on.  The only one I can think of would be the playoffs and they could have won all the games and not come close to those spots.

10 wins is a lot.  I bet most programs don't have 10 wins.
