Again, sorry to knee jerk. But I don't think I can remember a team that is this scizophrenic (sp?). They show up some nights and rock the hell out of a team, and then some nights they look like they couldn't make the NCAA tournament. I am losing more and more respect for Dirk, A. Walker, and Coach Nelson for not making adjustments (stop the man with the ball on a fast break...didn't I learn that in 5th grade basketball?). Sorry, but I don't see the Mavs getting out of the first round of the playoffs this year, they're just too inconsistent...and sometimes heartless. Thanks for letting me vent.

If their offense is not on they get hosed, they all but refuse to play D.

Like many have said there is no D in Dallas!

Down by 8 with 53.7 left. Even if they lose, I think this is a positive and here is why:

1) Michael Finley not taking any crap from Bowen and knocking him down. The Mavs need more of that.

2) That got the team fired up and they stormed back in the fourth quarter, but it looks like the lead was too much to overcome. Don't think that the Mavs won't remember this if they get behind the Spurs again the playoffs (they also overcame a 14 point 4th quarter defecit in Game 1 of the finals last season to win in SA).

3) The Mavs still won the season series 3-1.

But go ahead and bail, I will welcome you back on when the Mavs get on another hot streak.

I'm not bailing, I've been following my team forever. I have Rolando Blackmon's autograph, so it's all good.

It's easy to find some positives after the game was over. I posted before any of the comeback or Finley incident had occurred.

Yes...it's good that Finley stood up to Bowen, we need more attitude and less "nice guy" reputation on this team. Najera and Dirk also ran over a couple Spurs in the next few minutes...it got that team on their heels.

Yes...the Mavs stormed back, and it was very exciting. But notice that I used the term "scizophrenic," still not sure how to spell that, to describe the team in the first post of this thread. I stand by that. It's good that you can get fired up after a couple ejections and come roaring back like the game actually means something. It's NOT good that a team in a tight division and conference race can't come out fired up from the get go. I didn't honestly expect us to sweep the season series with the Spurs, but the way the team plays on the road gives me a damn good reason to be concerned heading towards the playoffs. The home win streak was awesome, and the nation's eyes were looking at the Mavs again. Many on ESPN mentioned that in March we'd see what the Mavs are truly made of. I could forget the T-Wolves game, but I can't forget this one.

These are the teams we are going to be competing with when it counts, and we have done well against them overall this season. I still think that the "good version" of the Mavs could win a 7 game series with anyone in the league, but will they show up for the road games? The numbers lead me to believe they won't. The Mavs were the best road team in the NBA last year, and that was the major difference.

The way things are probably going to shake out, we're looking at a first round match-up with either the Lakers or the Spurs. With homecourt advantage...who knows? We could take it. Without it...I hold true to my belief that they will not get past the first round this season...too much inconsistency.

Will they still be my favorite team? Yes. Will I still watch every game? Yes. I don't have to prove my support for the Mavs.

Bandwagon bash me if you want, but that's my opinion.

Wasn't attacking you, I had the guys that call in sports shows in mind where if the Mavs win, they could make some noise this year, and if they lose, doom and gloom. It's a whole lot worse with the Cowboys though. Your thoughts are fair and pretty accurate, don't think that was directed at you. At least you admitted it was knee-jerk. wink.gif

Cool, no hard feelings intended. Still a little mad, plus it's Friday night and I'm sick as a dog. mad.gif

I agree about the call-in show participants. Newy will have a big "I told you so" for Esteridge on Monday morning. laugh.gif
