Decided to take in the Kansas/Texas game.

Couple of observations:

1. Game day atmosphere is infinitely better at Apogee.

2.  Apogee is much nicer facility than Memorial.

3.  Fan support is greater at UNT.

Let that sink in.

Lawrence is a beautiful town with beautiful campus, and really cool shops/bar area.  Great college town to visit.

Of course, UNT repped by my alumna wife.

But it was cold, I do like the way the stadium sits.   From the hill and road above you can look down at the stadium.

Yeah it's a beautiful area.

Wasn't that cold actually.  40s.  Light breeze.

And we think the Big 12 is impossible for us...

We would sell out every game.

if you think we can match that KU b-ball prestige, I would love to hear you out. That would be exciting. That’s why they’re in the B12.

Well, LongJim, I had to go ahead and post this pic once again since it was Kansas you visited and its Kansas as TCU's opponent in this Amon Carter Stadium-based photo.

With 250,000 (+/-) North Texas Exes in the Metroplex we can go where our leaders will take us along with the right personnel who can get us there.  Wren Baker was a good start in doing this IMHO.

A Texas at Apogee game versus North Texas would need a much larger stadium. In 1976 we took 19,000 plus fans to (DKR) Memorial Stadium.   It was a great time to be Mean Green and UT fans wondered "where in the hell did all these apple-color clad fans come from?"

Like their seat backs.  Did fans bring those or where they set out by the AD for season ticket holders?

These were AD installed, pretty certain.  With the exception of the alumni side suites, that stadium was probably on par with Fouts as far as amenities and conveniences.
