The birds posted this a little while ago.  They say to expect heavy traffic and there isn't any parking at the Alamodome.  Yet, when I look at Ticketmaster, there are a bunch of seats (thousands) still available.  WTH???  

 

I’m sure they say to expect heavy traffic before all home games, just like UNT does.   There is no parking at the Alamodome because it is all permits only, not because of expected attendance.   My recollection from when I went there a few years ago is that you just have to find a random paid lot near the stadium and hoof it.

Ok & thanks!  We're going to the tailgate beforehand so I guess I just stay parked there since it's only a couple of blocks.  I hope you have a big turnout at the watch party!

Parking at the Alamodome is reserved for season ticket holders, that's why there is no general parking there, but we do tailgate well.  I have an extra ticket and parking pass if anyone is interested.  My seats are behind the visitor's bench, 35-yard line (section 133, row 10, seats 1 and 2, I will be in seat 1).  The parking pass is in Lot B (best tailgating lot), there is no reserved parking, it's first come, first serve.  Because UTSA is horrible this year, there won't be a big crowd.  We had the smallest crowd in program history last home game (16,874).  We did have 42,000+ for the Baylor game earlier this year, but that was before UTSA fans knew how bad we are.  Our normal attendance is usually around the 25-30K mark.  Come on down, have some food and drink (the Alamodome sells alcohol BTW), and don't beat up on us too bad.

I tailgate with the RowdyTalk/Rowdy's Roadhouse combined tailgate in Lot B. 

If any of y'all are interested in joining us, PM me.

(Our tailgates lean towards family friendly so if you're looking for a frat party atmosphere, this isn't it.)

      Hahaha....not directly. It meant in a more subtle way than that. When you have a good thing going and are in a grove, you want to stay in that grove, avoid distractions and not make changes to your routine. It's anecdotal (however it's been observed over a long period of time), but it seems whenever our teams get into a grove and have a good thing going, we go out of our way to change the atmosphere around the team. Not always, but more often than not, we don't respond well. I'm not suggesting that we should not market or promote the team. I'm saying our timing is often horrible. We really should be promoting the team consistently all season long so that there isn't a drastic/noticeable change to the atmosphere surrounding a particular game day. I realize that's not easy to do and there will be some natural changes when students return.

      I think Morris basically told the QB's that they would be using the portal going forward looking for guys they have playing experience. Another 6 win season and they lose their jobs. So no time to develop freshman and take their lumps. Their jobs rest on Puff being the man. Already hearing rumblings that Jimerson looking to get out after the spring. And possibly Mestemaker. No hope for young guys playing with this staff.

      I agree with what you're saying. And if not anything else, it's a slap in the face to the bench guys. It's basically saying you're not even good enough to contribute to 13 points/half so no need putting you guys in.

      You obviously missed my entire point. It’s not about panic, it’s about adjustments. Stone made a huge 3 against utsa in their barn just a couple weeks ago, could’ve used that again, mason has had moments when he gets in that he belongs. He’s a 6’6 frosh with so much shooting upside and the coach doesn’t play him. You’ll say it’s irrelevant because we came back in the 2nd half I get it. What happens when we get in foul trouble and or an injury happens? Would be nice to have people on the bench with recent playing time but I guess not. I digress it’s not my place, we are just typing on a message board. It would just be nice to see some mix up of a stagnant offense for a month now. Let’s get this W tonight. GMG

      they scored 3x as many points in the second half... seems like there were some adjustments... This board was hot on Saturday night... the loss sucked, but it's basketball, and this happens way more than football. Just puts more pressure on Hodge to win the tourney. This is what we are playing for, the conference tourney...
