I'll credit Todd Samuels for making me think of this idea.  I sent a note to the Alumni Association asking if they might consider a December alumni event at the Alamo Drafthouse to screen Necessary Roughness as an homage to Fouts.  We'll see what they say about it but I thought it would be fun way to spend a couple of hours.  Maybe they'll sell some TSU merch, too.

What does airport security have to do with your screening idea?

I remember this movie well!  Many of us skipped class to be filmed in the game crowd scenes.  They gave out free KFC and movie merchandise to everyone that showed up.  I also had a friend that was in the Billy Bob's fight scene in the movie.  We found out that many of the stars were staying at the Raddison during filming.  So, we went to the hotel bar and hung out with many of the former pro football players that were in the movie.  They were really friendly.

I tried to get Paramount to OK using Kathy Ireland for our schedule poster...she was OK with it, but Paramount nixed the idea.
