I agree, and most people on this board probably think it would be fun to watch, but unfortunately we are in the minority.  For most people it wouldn't be much, if any, different than North Dakota St. vs. Northern Iowa at Pizza Hut Park for the FCS national title.

What about an AP type poll of G5 schools and crowning a poll champion ala the old days?

Not the best idea I admit, but i used to like the fact that different polls would name a number one and divide a "national championship."

I know one argument was that the poll system wasn't fair which  led to the creation of BCS system, but nothing has been really fair since then either.

Since G5's will likely not be in the current playoff system, a dedicated G5 poll could be entertaining and interesting just for the speculation factor.

They did away with the poll system because it was subjective, correct?  Can someone explain to me again how they choose the four teams for the playoff?  I'd argue it's even more subjective based on the "we want the best four teams regardless of losses, lack of a conference championship, etc."

College Football Playoff in name only, it’s really just an invitational 4 team tournament. They pick the 4 “best” teams that will maximize profit and viewership.

I say do the playoff and get a seat at the table. If a G5 can pull off an off upset then maybe they can scream for another spot?
