I am very proud of how our team played last night. The players gave everything the had on the field. They were truly "Selfless, Tough, and (mostly) Disciplined".

Hope the they can some extra time to heal and rest before zeroing in on destroying UTSA. The players have earned it. Go Mean Green!!!

RANDOM THOUGTS:

It was a very enjoybale game to watch (mostly because we won).  The student turn out was suprising to me.  Not a bad crowd and the crowd was loud.  The players looked more relaxed on the sidelines for this game.   It was cold but in the fourth quarter was to exciting I didnt even think about being cold.

My only question about the game is:  Who was suppose to covering that tall receiver on FAU?  Man he was open time and time again.

Mason is tough kid and Quinn provided a spark  to the offense.  I guess FAU game plan was for the pass.  To bad Quinn did not get one more touchdown because he could have tied Al Bundy's three touchdowns in a game.

We didnt get much pressure on their qb all night.  Mason is a god send to us because he makes things happen with his arm and it will be hard to ever replace him.  FAU showed a good qb can look great if he is protection.  We need a strong OL to protect Mason next year and the qbs behind him because I dont think we will find another Mason Fine for a long time. I hope our futue qbs are learning from him.

The last interception was a great play by the MG defense.  I did wonder why they didnt put Quinn in to run the clock out at the end.  Mason had a hurt hand and I thought Quinn was a safer bet to handle the ball but it worked out.  I also think that Seth needs to have the back up qbs throw the ball in games where they get playing time.  Seth,  I know you are a classy guy who does not want to run the score up but when Mason went down we had no one who had thrown many passes in any games for us.  We need a strong backup.

I starting to wonder if Guyton should be on the field on 3rd downs.  He seems to have trouble catching the ball when the pressure is on. He can be a great receiver but he seemed to disappear this year compared to last year.  I thought Cujo had a good game last night.   I think Hair Griffin will make a big present on the field next year.

I want to thank all our Seniors for helping lead North Texas football out of the darkness.  It has been a heck of ride with you guys and you will all be missed.  I hope you are as successful in life as you were here.  You all have laid a solid foundation for the future of UNT football. Now go beat UTSA and win the bowl game.

I hope Seth stays one more year with Mason.  Mason will have a full year to add to his stats and I doubt if anyone will catch him.  I hope I am wrong.

If Seth takes a P-5 i wish him good luck and want to thank him for rasing the bar for UNT football.

Wren Baker you have done a heck of job since you arrived and your  hard work is paying off.  We really need you to stay here for 18 years and buy a sweater vest.

Sad to see the home schedue is over for this year.  I have complained  in the past but thst is just because I am passoniate fan. This is the only team i really follow in college or pro football.

You guys have been Selfless, Though and Disciplined.  The Disciplined we need to improve on because we had too many stupid personal foul penalities this year.  Yes, some of the calls were weak.
