Forgetting the obvious scheme change, the big thing the injury did was flip the “rage”switch across the board for our team.  Offense and defense got fired the heck up.

This and more specifically, it made the whole team focus again because they knew it wasn't going to be easy.

For sure the change in play style had something to do with scoring 2 quick TDs and changing momentum.

Would it have changed the outcome? It would have been close for sure. We had a TD taken away by a penalty, Fine was marching when he got hurt, and there were maybe 8-9 drops, of which one led to an INT.

FAU adjusted to Shanbour after two drives, so who's to say we would've continued to have success with just running QB options and runs. Shanbour's second TD was extremely well blocked so I think catching them off guard wouldn't have lasted the rest of the way. Fine kept moving the offense afterward, even though we were stalling out.

Fine had 200 yards in the 1st Q.

im with you on running the ball. Just saying, it’s amazing how good we are when everything is clicking.

He got the 200 against man coverage.  When they dropped 8 in to a zone, it slowed everything down.  We will have to adjust for that in the future, but a good mix of Torrey and QB options to keep the defense honest would do wonders.

I thought you were about to propose we eat babies.

You mean someone else on this board has read a book!
