I guess we can figure it out. But I could spit Nails why would I want to go to a watching party? When the sea USA, ESPN, and whatever the UNT Administration has to do with it, punches in the nuts. These options are like being Republican and being forced to vote for somebody like Paul Ryan. Not too happy if the bowl game is going to be in New Mexico. I can't believe our athletic department isn't smarter than this. Or maybe somebody's holding a gun to their head. If so the administration better say we had a gun held to our heads. If not, how am I supposed to have respect for the administration. I know this is contrary to what I should feel like based on the way RV did things. But this is ridiculous. But I think RV would even fight something like this, honestly.

Geez flights to Albuquerque are not cheap. I paid less to fly to Copenhagen And Stockholm last month. So who is having a watching party lol?

Its essentially a ski destination this time of year. Flights aren't going to be cheap on the weekend...

So two years in a row, the athletic department let's just go to a bowl game, where are students and faculty can't be involved. Because of graduation. What sense does this make? I can almost guarantee you, if I had $1000000. Or any savings at all I would bet it all on Seth Littrell being out of here and going to K-State or some other Bowl destination.

And yes, this whole situation is like putting lipstick on a pig. The only upside to this is we'd play Utah State.

And if any UNT faithful try to tell me that I should be happy about this, they're traitorous UNT fans!!!!

Gomeangreen I guess.

Of the games that were available to us, this might be the only one I had a chance to go to.  However, I'd rather have gone to a different Bowl for everyone else.  A couple fans versus the thousands extra we could have had in Dallas is a crappy tradeoff.

Have to see if my fiancée can coordinate our schedules to actually attend now.

Waiting to see how Wren spins this to a “we had no choice/it’s great for the players”

This is GARBAGE!

If a CUSA (besides UAB or MTSU)  team makes any bowl that our fans could have made it to, I’ll be pretty mad.

Why is this such a tough thing for our AD to make happen in our favor???

Might want to tap the brakes on playing Utah State as an upside. They had a great season this year. Yeah, Wells took the Tech job so we don’t know how that will impact them, but we better be ready for a 10-2 team.

Rick

Ha!  After our trip to France in October where I dragged her to almost every single important WWI battlefield site on the Western Front - I definitely can't overdo vacations for awhile.

I'm happy about this.  A quality opponent, and a nice destination.  ABQ has casinos and ski resorts, though it may be early to ski unless you drive up to Santa Fe.  The timing sucks, but it is at least an afternoon Saturday game.  Dallas Bowl is on Wednesday, the day after Christmas and nobody will be watching it.

The althletic dept should see if they could charter a plane, and package a deal for the weekend flight/hotel/game combo for $400-500 a person. I am sure some fans would be down for this deal.

Not only will nobody be watching the NM Bowl, those that do watch will see an empty stadium.

At least with the First Responders Bowl we could have had a crowd, and people WILL watch a football game the day after Christmas because it interrupts the time with extended family.

This is the worst case scenario in my opinion. I was in the ABQ this past week. Trust me....there is nothing to do there.

Playing on the 15th also means that Rico Bussey probably won’t be  healed enough to play.

Why cant we seem to get a bowl that’s not on opening day of bowl season?

They should call this the “Who Cares Bowl.”
