We travel just fine to reasonable destinations. Ie. Within the massive, far flung state of Texas.  Actually  we travel significantly better than most of our peers   Our away attendance in recent years at Texas, Rice, Houston, SMU, TCU, Baylor, UTSA are all very good.  We travel to all of those places in the thousands, not hundreds like you're saying.   We've also had reasonable road crowds at La Tech, Tulsa, Tulane ULaLa, Ark St. in recent years.

I don't count metro plex games, such as TCU,SMU,UTA. Texas is a big draw, but lets agree to disagree as to definition of a "reasonable " crowd is for the 3rd largest school in the state for the rest of the schools you mentioned. And we don't travel in the thousands to Rice,Houston, or UTSA.Regardless, if we are to be considered  for better bowls we must "travel better" outside the metroplex.

The article is about BYU and possible bowl matchups. Nothing special there but if you have the time to go through the comments section it’s funny how little BYU fans know. No respect from that fan base at all. Hoping for  BYU matchup now just to shut them up 😅

We took a great crowd to Arkansas as well.

Yes, I missed that one as well. Good point.

Our crowds are not a deterrent from being invited to certain bowls. The setup of the system itself is. I don’t understand how some of our fans don’t understand this??

I can tell you that we sold out our allotment to UTSA tomorrow, whatever that amount is

Oh yes we do - we outnumber the Rice fans (not that there are many of them).

The BIG10 is tied to the Dallas Bowl this season. With Ohio State knocking off Michigan today, there should not be a BIG10 team in the playoff. The BIG10 has 9 bowl ties and 9 bowl eligible teams. If ESPN and C-USA don't horse-trade the bowl away again, either Purdue or Minnesota would be the likely opponent in that bowl. But, a lot can and will happen before invitations are extended.

Beating Michigan could get OhioSt into the CFP unfortunately

Could, but I doubt the win combined with a win over Northwestern in the title game would be enough to elevate them over LSU, or Oklahoma if they beat Texas.

LSU is a 2 loss team currently in their 5th ot with a 4 loss team. That ain't happening.

Any chance we get the Independence Bowl?

Something really strange would have to happen.   C-USA has 7 direct bowl ties and we have 7 eligible teams.   We only have a secondary tie to the Independence Bowl:

“No set order for Conference USA bowls. Champion will choose which bowl it wants to attend.

– Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla vs. American Athletic

– Bahamas Bowl vs. MAC

– Cheribundi Tart Cherry Bowl vs. American Athletic

– Gildan New Mexico Bowl vs. Mountain West

– Hawai’i Bowl vs. Mountain West

– R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl vs. Sun Belt

– SERVPRO First Responders Bowl vs. Big Ten

Secondary Agreements

 Walk-On’s Independence Bowl

Conditional if ACC or SEC can’t fill a spot.

 DXL Frisco Bowl

Conditional if American Athletic or MAC can’t fill a spot.”

CBS has us playing Nevada in the New Mexico Bowl.

Booooo.

This season sets up perfect for the New Orleans Bowl vs the belt again. It’s a fitting end to a season with such highs and lows.   😞
