Based on South Side guy's reply, and a lipstick on a pig of a bowl that we just got sent to. I think we should just close down this topic thread, and leave it at that.

C-usa conference has no respect for UNT!!!

This, for no other reason should want every UNT faithful to look for another conference affiliation.

Our athletic department Must Believe that the UNT faithful or a bunch of CHUMP'S!!!

Just goes to show, 7-5, 8-4, 9-3, 10-2, and unless we're the highest ranked 11-1/12-0 none of it matters. We are destined to this. Eager to see where Frenso and Boise goes as 10 and 11 win teams not getting the NY Bowl nod. Utah St got to 10 in the reg season and is going to ABQ. It's just mind blowing.

Some of you should stop, take a deep breath and understand who decides who goes to each game. Do I like this bowl?  Nope. Probably can't attend now, but bitching at the best AD we've ever had is energy wasted.

Well, to some extent I do agree with you. But AD's do have some sort of say to their conference commish. They don't just throw the names up against a wall and whoever sticks wherever is where they're sending teams. There is an extreme amount of elbow rubbing and dirty handshakes to maneuver yourself where you want to be, specifically for the more premiere bowls. It happens here too, just less dirty and political.

If you really want to be humbled, go to the Utah State sites and read what THEY think of US.  It will sound pretty familiar. This is a tougher match up than any P5 we could have faced.  Only wild card is the coaching change, but we may be dealing with that too.

They will have had more time to adapt to their coaching change.  We will be double-digit underdogs.

Me too.  ABQ is only 30 minutes farther to drive than New Orleans.  ABQ also has casinos and skiing.  Hotels are cheaper than NOLA.  It will make for a nice weekend trip.

Don't stay in ABQ.  Stay in Santa fe.  Better hotels, better places to eat, better everything really.

Would love to go, but granddaughter’s Christmas recital on the 16th trumps football.    (yes, even a bowl.)  Have a good time all.  I’ll be watching.

I think more people are excited about MW teams coming to Denton, than they are about going to away games.

      I am torn on what to do with EM, but I know he needs to go. Many say we need a HC with head coaching experience at the FBS level. I know there are HCs at other FBS programs doing more with less, but would they come to a place where historically it's difficult to win consistently and risk it all if their eye is ultimately on a power conference job? Then if you take a P4 conference former HC, they have most likely been fired and they may not get the mojo back like Tom Herman at FAU or Charlie Strong. So, if that is the case where do we go? Many are saying no FCS HC or no more coordinators who have not been a HC at this level. Again where do we go if not those type of guys? My thought is that you may have to hire that guy that this board has been reluctant to go after. That's the guys who have had issues somewhere else and that's why they are no longer where they are. Lane Kiffin had issues and FAU gave him the chance to resurrect his career. Alabama gave Sarkisian (spelling) a chance to resurrect his career and he is doing good things at Texas. We have tried a lot of things, but we have not tried that route of HCs with some skeletons in their past. I feel that if that coach wins, people will forget about their past. I am sure people at Texas have forgotten about what went down with Sark at USC. Just my opinion because we have been striking out for a long time on HCs.

      I'm not sure what the path is for Cobbs long term. A lot of us would absolutely love to have him in a HC role in Denton, but we want to see him gain HC experience first. Do we take a chance and give him that crown? Do we watch him leave, and possibly not return...ever?
