I understand resting starters, but losing 4-0 to middle of road team to close season, pretty much kills any chance of an at-large bid.

I did a little investigating and found some interesting tidbits ...

1.  Heading into this game we had the conference championship already wrapped up.

2.  According to the recap, we rested several starters and three girls got their first playing time of the year.

3. If we had defeated ODU we would have played ... ODU ... in our first tourney game.  I suppose Hedlund didn't feel a win was worth giving ODU any info for a meaningless game.

4. We play Rice on Halloween at 4:30 PM.  Rice was the preseason favorite to win the conference yet they had to defeat Charlotte in their final game to make the tourney.  Not sure what happened to them.

NT had the tournament first seed wrapped up.  The loss allowed FAU to tie for the championship and dominate the all conference honors.

Obviously, Hedlund tanked the ODU game although it makes no sense.  NT must play the preseason number 1 Rice in the first round which according to coaches, has the best offensive player in the league.   Rice is the eight seed but maybe the most dangerous team in the tournament.

The lopsided loss to ODU has to hurt NT's seeding if they reach the tournament.

We did end the regular season with an RPI of 28. I’m guessing we get an at large bid regardless of what happens in the conference tournament.

Win Win Win! RPI is 28, our team beat Rice 2-0 and ODU the home team in the tournament lost tonight 3-2 OT! Guess we have the smarter coach, Hedlund rested his players against ODU and when you look at the stats she pretty much plyed her starters the whole game. Well it backfired, ODU is out and UNT will be playing La Tech Friday night at 7pm.

True. Still concerned about the optics of a 4-0 loss when the committee is discussing seeding and home games.

Let's hope the ladies just win the tournament and take the committee out of the equation until seeding time.

Nice win over Rice.
