We’re #UNTProud of Jim Mcingvale, more commonly known as “Mattress Mack,” who stepped up during Hurricane Harvey by opening his doors to the Houston community. Mattress Mack is delivering a lecture to the University of North Texas College of Business before receiving an honorary degree from UNT.

We're about to build a gigantic building over those fields, so I don't mind having a tiny sliver of outdoor practice space with Dickey's name on it.

time to bury the hatch. He has to be happy with how UNT is playing these days, new ad, new president and two head coaches later. Darrell is doing well with his mofoing coaching career.

Everything I can find only says he “attended” NTSU. Apparently he also attended UT before advancing to North Texas.

It could be he does have a degree from UNT but is getting a different honorary one such as a doctorate instead of a bachelor.

Whether or not he completed his degree, he's a great example of someone with entrepreneurial talents that didn't need one.

Dear Mr. Mcingvale a big Thank You for all that you have done for The University of North Texas, the residents of the Houston area and the other folks that you have touched all over this nation. You are a fine man and set an example the rest of us can only hope to achieve. Your Degree is well deserved and I am proud that you and I attended the same University, UNT. GO MEAN GRENN!!!

Growing up in Houston, I thought this guy was both crazy and cool at the same time. I only learned this year that he played football for NTSU, and that was around the time Harvey hit. He's been a stand-up human since he was born, and I'm very proud that he ended up at UNT, for however long he went there.

His generosity was apparent after Hurricane Harvey. And who could forget his TV interview, post hurricane, with his SOW North Texas helmet visible in the background.

Very happy they are doing their best to bring “Mac” back into the fold. We need all the big wallets we can get to keep this ship going in the right direction.

Plus he he is just a good humanitarian.
