The reality of the situation:

ESPN puts us in whatever the hell the Heart of Dallas Bowl is called these days because they know that 40,000 of us will show up at 4 o'clock on a Tuesday morning, and throws in whatever the hell opponent they feel like who has nowhere else to go, doesn't travel, and doesn't bring in TV revenue.

ESPN uses the situation to further extort the City of Dallas for exorbitant payments going forward.

It's a G5 world -- 15-0 or GTFO.  We just GTFO'd.

I thought the City of Dallas has pretty much cut off the gravy train for the sole bowl game being played within its limits?

If we stay with one loss, these predictions will change everything.

There is a chance we win every game left and still not end up west division champs, much less conference champs.

I will say it again. UNT will only play in a cusa bowl tie in game. If we went undefeated we still will not play in a ny6 game because a 1 loss UCF team will be ranked higher than us. The "higher up bowls" have tie ins also and will not choose UNT over a 6-6 Florida or 8-4 Michigain.

For me I want a bowl win over anything else this year.

I could see the Armed Forces Bowl making a play for us if the American or Big 12 don't have a team to send.

I could see liberty bowl also. But odds are small for both. And like I said I we need to win the bowl we are in.

My my my, throwing around bowl projections and knowing that we will be involved.....sure seems like more fun than it used to be when we had 2 or 3 wins and headed to the toilet bowl.

Liberty?   Or, do you mean Independence?

It's looking like (unless we get help from at least 1 other West Division team beating LATech... looking at you UAB... while we go undefeated) we're not going to get to choose our bowl or play for the C-USA championship.   So hey, maybe we'll be in a position to play the Independence bowl like USM did last year.

You know what they call an 11-1 G5 that didn’t win its conference? They don’t.

boy how one loss changes everything.

Honest question though - aren't these projections virtually identical to last week? I remember a HoD vs. Leach thread this time last week, about all the cool storylines.....
