I thought he would be put on the inside of the gates.  more protected there and I am not talking about the weather.

I like that people can come enjoy the statue at any time rather than just ~6 games/year.

My understanding is that during his time at NTSU, he was known as Big Joe and that the nickname Mean Joe Greene didn’t come about until he was with the Steelers.  For that reason, part of me wishes they would have just put Joe Greene on the statue rather than a Mean Joe Greene.  It’s a small part of me though.

I saw more people and a bigger crowd at the unveiling than I witnessed in some home football games at Fouts back in the day.  Thank you Wren Baker and Seth Littrell.

I also thought it was super classy of Wren (and very appropriate I might add) for Wren to acknowledge Rick V and the part he played in getting this statue project to become a reality.  In fact, if you look on the donor plaque for the statue you will see Rick V and his wife's names...and not at the lowest level of donation either.  Very classy...very classy.

As Wren said...it was a" very good day to be us" in spite of the close loss to La Tech.

Agree it's classy of Wren to mention. And RV to donate. Nonetheless, RV had 15 years to get a statue up so I'm not prepared to give him a medal of honor for having the idea. I will say I think people overlook Rick getting the stadium done which was no small feat.
