On this Throwback weekend, here is a little video number 1 son turned up of old #72, Freshman Joe Greene. Title is misspelled, and much of the video focuses on Tech. But the game was at Fouts (some validation that the locker room and shower space was inadequate long before I watched games there) and North Texas wins 28-12 in 1965. Mean Joe karma.

Edit: I will concur with the historians on here. I was thinking the scoreboard designates the home team on the right (the empty seats were another clue!). Upon further review, I am taking a self-inflicted whistle for Fake News. The score continues to reflect an NT win, Mean Joe remains #72 and his last name remains misspelled in the video's title. I also stand by the Mean Joe karma. Validation expected Saturday. #BeatLaTech

Are you sure that was at Fouts?  By the look of the scoreboard, and the car driving right behind it, I would think it was in Lubbock.

Tech wasn't called the "Red Raiders" back then?  Or was "Picadors" a separate name for the freshman team?

Is it because it's in black and white that I don't see the track in Fouts or was it not installed yet?

That's another clue that it isn't in Fouts.

The Varsity was the Matadors.  This is the First Time I've heard them called the Picadors, so this is definitely the Freshman Team.
