* No one should be surprised that Seth runs the ball.  That's always been a big part of his offenses.  At North Carolina they ran the ball a ton.

* I don't think we're deep at running back.  I think we have a lot of guys but only Easly has shown any kind of sustained success but I don't see him having a high ceiling.  As he gets more playing time this season he may turn it on and prove to be a lead back.  His lack of top may be the biggest thing limiting him.  We have two running back recruits coming in and I wouldn't be surprised to see one of them get lots of playing time next season.

* I think a huge key for the La Tech game is outside with the receivers for each team.  La Tech has those big guys who can post up and battle for the ball.  We've got speed and quickness.  Both defenses like to challenge throws.  It'll be a good battle outside.

I think we are deep at RB but we might not have a workhorse back as we often had in the past. I think each have their places in this offense. I think Torrey has the highest every down potential but Easly knows the system and blocking better at this point with over a year in the system. Easly racked up a ton of yards at SFA so he could carry the ball a lot if needed.

Nic Smith showed the ability to perform last year, so I am curious as to what has happened since then.  I really don't care who starts as long as they perform.

Nic looked good when he filled in for Wilson during games.  He did not look great when he had to start after Wilson got injured.

Correct.  He looked good against Rice (178 yards), but that was Rice.   He then ran for 50 yards against FAU and 19 yards against Troy.

So against two teams who received top 25 votes? Got it. Nic Smith can play, I think he’s better off being a change of pace back than everydown.  I thought he’d have no problem as he’s broken almost every Martin rushing record.
