Fine Getting Slammed On 2pt Attempt

While watching stream saw Mason getting slammed out of bounds and the ref holding up a flag and talking to the Liberty tackler. What was this all about. Saw another rep get between the Liberty tackler and the ref with his flag out.

That was bussey.  They switched positions on that play and ran a wildcat type play.

It was actually Rico Bussey, Jr. who got slammed. It was a direct-snap trick play snafu.
Wells for Liberty started talking shit, and the ref was daring him to repeat what he said.

I think the defenseman was running his mouth to the ref and it pissed off the ref, the ref clearly dared him to say it again. The other ref broke it up before it escalated.

I saw that too. I thought it was a pretty bad blunder for a referee to show a flag and not throw it, especially when it comes down to player safety.

It wasn’t player safety it appeared to be something Wells said.  Pretty classless move by a “professional” either flag him or keep it moving.

Wells (great player talent wise) was a punk all game.  If you’ll recall, he was the one continuing to get an extra shove or word in after multiple plays including our last rushing TD.  Early on I remember thinking “man, I wish I could add him to our D-line” and by the end of the game I thought “not worth the headache, he’d certainly keep an opposing team’s drive going with a penalty.”

Agreed, one has to wonder if our culture is in place deeply enough that it could thwart a player from acting like that bc (it isn’t what we do here).  He’s a talented kid for sure!
