Weird. I am quite happy with the defense so far this season.

And the offense is good sure, but I am still worried about the run game, which looked better last season.

I am as well. Love the blow up at the line of scrimmage that we've seen thus far. Our LBs have been allowed to run wild, but I guess we'll know more by Saturday night.

Another thought that crossed my mind: as the defense improved while I am not sure whether the offense really has, I assume that practices are much more competitive for both units. That in itself should be helpful.

We are damn near to a Dickey Defense. Give this defense a chance it might be all that.

The 1st string defense held SMU to one 1st down and about 10 minutes of play through 3 quarters. That is a tough stat get against any team.

It's too early to tell, this defense may be better than any Dickey had.  There is no Booger,, but those kind are very rare.

It should also be noted that once Kennedy's class graduated that was the end of Dickey's, with a few exceptions, anything good.

kind of what I was thinking....

Who's to say this won't be as good as a Dickey defense at the end of the year?

Besides....Dickey didn't face the offenses of today. Not taking anything away from those defenses because they were amazing but offenses have really changed in the past 15-20 years.
