Over 10,000 Students

UNT Athletics just sent out an email saying over 10,000 students were at the SMU game.

Outstanding progress. That's a true testiment to the program and Wren Baker.  Congrats all around!  Let's keep our foot on the mean green gas pedal.  The team is doing their job, we need to help keep our end of the deal.

That is great progress! Now the key is how do we get that 10,000 to return every game?

We had 10 hundred attend, maybe, when I was in school.

So over 10k students, and around 19k non-student tickets sold as of a couple of days before the game? Does that mean SMU's allotment plus walk up sales were only around 500? Why does SMU even bother.

Not defending SMUt, just making an observation. Looking across the field from me, I could see the Mr. Peppermints, of course, and there was actually a discernible group of SMUt fans outlined around them. I cannot estimate the total but, to their credit, a number of them actually showed up.

I was actually surprised on how many SMU fans showed up as well. There was a pretty good amount not just sitting in the visitor section but in the wing as well. 

I laughed because there were a couple SMU fans sitting near me, that got up shortly into the beginning of the 3rd quarter and said out loud that they were embarrassed and that they were not showing their face in Denton for awhile. I have a feeling that beating they took is going to send them back to their mansions on their big screen TV's for awhile...

The 19k number would have included smoo ticket purchases. You have to hand it to them. They probably had 60-70% of their total fan base at the game.
