The National Football Foundation awards dinner will have a LOT of coaches in attendance. It's a big deal with a lot of awards. BTW, our old favorite commissioner Karl Benson is getting an award!

And Seth Littrell is on the AFCA Board of Trustees.  He's a big deal in the coaching world.

I wonder if Seth really wants to be the next OU coach?

I think Lincon is gone after next year. The NFL $$$ will be ridiculous.

There could also be an opening at Oklahoma State.

Would moving to KSU now take Seth out of the running in a year??

No, it won't.

Willie Taggart left Oregon after one season to follow his dream job at Florida State.

Not if he takes them to a bowl game after missing this year.

Venables should just state he wants to stay an assistant coach under Dabo for the rest of his life.  It gets tiring to see his name pop up on every job opening only to have him reaffirm he is staying put.

Venables has said repeatedly he wants to coach his son, a freshman LB at Clemson, through his graduation.

Yeah, but has his agent had any contact with Taylor?

HIGHLY likely.  I'll bet Littrell could actually say something similar.
Taylor has had his hands full trying to slyly push Snyder out the door.  He hasn't had time to go around recruiting coaches... yet.

Can Seth get to OU by having success at UNT? Can he get to a top P5 with success at UNT? I believe he can because most P5’s hire top co ordinators. I mentioned this before his agent has to be looking at potential openings for next year! I have been told Morris at Arkansas is on a very short leash!

Exactly.

I am ironically travelling to Kansas City today.

I can confirm that Seth Littrell was NOT on my flight.

And in the car I listened to some sports talk.

I get the feeling that KState is going to take a week or two to tell stories about Bill Snyder before they move on....

I got two questions:

1) what school is mini Briles going to jump to?

2) after Briles is gone, how long will it take for Houston to realize that Aplewhite sucks?

1.  Liberty

2.  They already know that which is why they signed mini Briles to a large extension.

It essentially says nothing.  There are sverval coaches on the list.  SL would take the job IF offered (no shit, so would everyone else).  AND a mysterious “they” think Fine would go with SL.

Did all leave for better jobs or were any of them shown the door.  I am just curious why so many in such a short period of time.  Is Freeze looking for work?

Roberts fired after 9 years

Freeze one year went to Ole Miss

Malzahn one year went to Auburn

Harsin one year went home to Boise (played high school and college ball in Boise).

Freeze is apparently going to be hired by Baylor's former AD to become head coach at Liberty.

It has worked somewhat for Arkansas State (Freeze, Malzahn, Harsin all being 1-year rent-a-coaches) before they finally landed Anderson.

15th longest bowl appearance streak in the nation, 8 straight years. Nothing worse than 7 wins in that span.

I don't think a P5 can get to a premier program like OU without a stop somewhere else. AState to Auburn only happened because Gus was OC when they won the national title and they flew like a penguin after he left so they hired him to be HC.

According to a K-State friend of mine, both the 24/7 and Rivals K-State sites are reporting that Seth interviewed for the job either last night or this morning.

so they did the interview in New York? Must've been a phone interview.
