Liberty has virtually unlimited resources.  They could plausibly become the next BYU. Like BYU, they have a pretty stringent code of student behavior.  I wonder if they'll turn a blind eye like BYU did when Jim McMahon was quarterback.

Their goal is to be the Protestant Notre Dame. That’s why they have been throwing so much $$$ into athletics recently. BYU would be a disappointment in their eyes.

We’ll see should be interesting. I don’t think most people have enough awareness of what Liberty is really for them to be able to do what they want. Hope they have a good Marketing Director. Lol

Overall, this was not a good opening weekend for CUSA.  Of course, I don't mind at all North Texas being one of the few success stories.  Still, it is concerning that we didn't see more non-conference wins for CUSA and fewer blowout losses.

I've been thinking the same thing.  Their program could be really good.

Count me as one of those who thinks we would discount Liberty at our peril. They are apparently on a high-speed roll!
