UConn RB Nate Hopkins has transferred to UNT

Led UConn last season with 7 rushing TD’s.. I don’t have any further info , but I’m assuming he’ll sit out this season

I think 2? I said he was class of 2016, so he should have 2016-2020, with one of those as a redshirt. If he already redshirted, then he will be a redshirt sophmore this year, but sit out. If he hasn't redshirted yet, then he can use this year as his redshirt and have two to play.

He might have two years of eligibility. You have five years to play four.

2016 - Redshirted at UNCONN

2017 - Was on the 2017 UCONN roster; Redshirt Freshman

2018 - Transferred to North Texas; must sit out due to transfer rules; would be a redshirt sophomore.

2019 - Redshirt Junior at North Texas

2020? - Redshirt Senior at North Texas

off the topic how many years has stockstill (qb) played at MTS.  Seems like he has been there 10 years

Yeah dug through the threads and the articles. A walk-on and younger player were getting more and more snaps with the first team. Supposedly, he was told he would be 3rd down and short yardage back. Clearly believes he is more than that. He was recruited under the last head coach, there's been a change since then. Our RB room is pretty full, hopefully he can come and compete.

Good add. I like his length. But if he's coming in as a DE, he's probably coming in to play our buck/jack/star or whatever this staff is calling the position. He needs a good RS year to put on 15-20 pounds as well.

If he stays on as a RB, don't be misled by his YPC.  Its tough to have a good YPC when you are only used near the goal line.

I'm assuming he's not on scholarship.  If he comes and puts the work in could be a quality addition either at running back or special teams.

Interestingly his OC at UConn last season will be calling the game tonight for SMUt.
