UNT was approaching 19,000 tickets sold for its game against SMU on Thursday afternoon, a total that doesn’t include student tickets. Attendance could approach a sellout, or at least the Apogee record of 28,075 set against Houston in 2011.

19000 sold

8000 students

1500 SMU

2000 walk up

500 on phone Friday?

31,000?

Sounds about right. I predicted 500 short of a sellout, it may be capacity crowd + standing room. Another reason to add to it being a must win game.

looking at the the tickets purchase map on Meangreensports.com just now, it is showing the wing to have ticket availability as low.  on section with high availability are the upper corners of the alumni side.

That’s an improvement over just a few hours ago when I looked at it.

However....I’m questioning that map now. The next 2 games look pretty much the same....

Optimism would say we sold a bunch of wing season tickets.  Realist says you're right...

This could be the ticket office was promoting a 3 or 4 game pack, so if fans are buying the packs could be getting similar seats, but my memory might be going as well.

Or these are the seats McNatt has sponsored/donated.

I have to stop obsessing over that map....😩

But there is still a full section and two corner sections that are completely empty and 205-208 are half empty along with the corner end zones

~3500 seats still available?

That's ~100 seats per hour from here to gametime

I looked this morning and thought the same thing. But I'm guessing 2-3k for a walk-up crowd. Reality is the walkup push at the end will be the deciding factor.

Walk up is usually a few thousand, from what I understand.  First game of the season, a lot more hype than we have had in a long time, local media talking about the game?  Sounds like we could sell every seat.

Imagine if the school was somehow able to convince Stone Cold to make a surprise appearance?? The place would go nuts when they showed him on the video board.

Who says he won't be there.

Having been in event promotions for a long time, I can assure that those seat maps for ticketing are never accurate. By design.

You ever been on a commercial flight?

And just as airlines have crapped the bed with their customer service, we don't want NT following suit with security having to kick several people out of the stadium, or give them vouchers to standby for those seats to the Incarnate Word game!
