Why?  My wife never brings a purse in to a game. Guess I am one of the 100.

Yeah. Why would we want security to know what fans are bringing into the game?!?!

I think that this is an NCAA wide rule right?

The thing that sucks about this is not everyone will get the memo....and there are going to be some pissed off people when they get turned away at the gate. Nothing really you can do about it.

The Ath Dept can only do so much in getting the word out...I hope the ticket office is communicating this to people that buy tickets...

I was told they would give reminders the first two games but wouldn't turn anyone away. That was from a member of the MGSF staff at the ticket pick up event. He also said we were pretty much the last venue (college or pro) in Texas to put the policy in.

Personally, I don't love they have to do this. But they do have a responsibility to ensure everyone's safety. Many stadiums and venues have metal detectors so this seems less intrusive than that.

What bags do people need to bring in?  The only one that seems a little odd is binocular cases.  Then again, I have seen flasks that are made to look like binoculars.

I only bring bags of weather gear depending on the weather forecast.

Exactly! I guess that vision is what set me off. I routinely carry two stadium blankets, nylon windbreakers, rain ponchos, gloves, stocking caps, binoculars, plus other small crap in a nylon gym bag. At entry, I zip it open and show and pad all the stuff. Obviously, I leave all that in the trunk of my car in September and into October. When you finally have to wear that stuff it isn't usually needed until the second half. But when you need it, YOU NEED IT.

Looks like I'll have to break it down into multiple bags and ask my guests (I have so much carry shit because I have four seats and usually have three other people) to each carry a little plastic bag. Pain in the ass and expensive if you need more than one.

Binoculars. What is the rule? Can you still bring a pair strung around your neck? Can you get away with a belt-mounted carrying case if you expose them? I don't use mine often but they do come in handy.

This is just another annoying intrusion into our lives.

Well, someone’s making money off of this trend.

https://clear-handbags.com/

Yes they are! If you don't shop around online, and you are an "easy mark", you could pay $40 or $50 for one.  I gave the one I got with season tickets on the 18th to the kids. I thought it would be easy to find one in a store, but most are available only online. I shopped Academy, WalMart, JC Penney, and a couple more. Ended up ordering one to be delivered in about 10 days at a reasonable price. I like the link you posted.

Yup, this is definitely going to happen. But like any new rule when it is enacted,  You're going to have those unknowing people learn a hard lesson at first, but it should only take once to learn. The problem is, this is going to take all year to figure out with different newbies learning the hard way... Looks like it is not a all NCAA rule, but several P5 programs are following this rule.

Good to know I’m 1 of 25,000 trying to sneak things into the stadium. I thought I was alone. Lol

My season tickets were mailed to me along with two clear plastic bags with UNT LOGO on them. They're not very big........check the size restrictions.

My wife usually carries a large purse everywhere we go. Just do what I do on game days and you won’t have to worry about it. Leave the wife at home....

Men will have to have larger pockets in order to carry nail polish, recipe books, photographs of grandchildren, lipstick, cell phones, Kleenex, sunglasses, comfortable shoes, folding umbrella, brush and comb, make up, hairspray, and car keys.

Sometimes ladies experience things that guys don’t and have to carry certain supplies with them. They usually try to be discrete about these items. How will the new rule affect them?

There is some humor in you replying to a three year old thread and referring to this as a “new rule”.

That was some spambot that pulls up old posts and brings them back. I don't know what the purpose was.. but the user's email showed up in many spam directories on the interwebz.

Transparent handbags sound like something feminine. I don't want to bring some kind of bag made of transparent cellophane or transparent plastic to the match. It's much more convenient for me to walk with such a backpack https://www.amazon.com/Mato-Hash-Drawstring-Promotional-1PK-100PK/dp/B076VSDHM3?th=1. I've taken this to matches many times. In fact, this type of backpack has an enlightened fabric. Do you think the enlightened fabric can pass for a transparent bag? I think that with this backpack, security guards can let me into the football stadium during the new matches. I haven't been out to watch matches live for a long time. Of course, I came to my son's games a couple of times, but they were just school and friendly matches, nothing more.
