By that logic, Fine isn't very impressive because your last coach ran the ball 3 times and punted all game. I don't buy it. Both are great QBs.

Yeah, what the hell was that all about?  I mean, didn't we get the ball on a turnover deep in positive territory on your first possession and never even look like we were going to throw a pass on that 3 and out?  That was when I stopped hating SMU and started hating whoever hired Coach Mac.  On another note, I was somewhere in the last couple of weeks and saw Coach Hawaii coaching a CFL team.  Unlike McCarney, who I think retired from coaching when he got a contract extension at UNT.

Ok, I forgot this was a prediction thread: 51-49 UNT, as our defense slightly improves, mainly due to our offense having gained confidence and chemistry since last year.  This is somewhat inspired by KERA's airing of their Roy Orbison concert tonight, and the reminder that in his universe, Dallas was just a town southeast of Denton.

The time has come for the Mean Green to stop hitting each other, and hit another team.

The loathsome SMU ponies come up to Denton with uncertainty swirling all around their team:
New Coach.
No Sutton, No Quinn, No Lawler.
Their last game was a complete a**whipping in their own backyard to LATech.

The Mean Green are going to come into this game intensely focused on setting an early tone for the season.  No nerves, no jitters.    The Offense is going to jump out early and pour points on... to the point of 17 or 21 points in the 1st quarter.
SMU will be on their heels early & unable to recover.
Reserves will start seeing time in the 4th quarter.  NT will be coasting.   SMU will gain a little traction against the 2nd-teamers & get some garbage points near the end.

NT: 45
SMU: 24

I don’t think I made any predictions last year and NT won 9.  So I think I will refrain again.

Since @Harry is handing out kudos...

He's the winner based on what he wrote above.  The fact that he almost picked the exact score is just icing on the cake.

I bow to the greatness of MeanGreenTexan.
