First: APOLOGIES FOR THE ENORMOUS POST

Most of us have chimed in on the GYROTR thread with record predictions.
Anyone care to chime in on HOW each game is won/lost?

*Assume no catastrophic injuries for any teams NT, or opponents*

I'll kick it off:
9/1    SMU - The Mean Green come out swinging early.  No jitters/nerves, just intense focus.  SMU put on their heels early and cannot recover.
          NT: 45  -  SMU: 24
9/8    Incarnate Word - The Mean Green take the foot off the pedal a little and genuinely try to work on some things.  We should get a look at a lot of reserves in the later parts of this game.  Unfortunately for Incarnate Word, those reserves are going to want to prove themselves.
          NT: 56
          Incarnate Word: 14
9/15  @Arkansas - The Mean Green go to Fayetteville flying high.   The Razorbacks come back from Ft. Collins the previous week feeling good about how they can play against a measly G5.  They are gravely mistaken.  Defensive performance like we haven't seen since 2013.  Hedlund puts 9pts on the board against his former team... Critical to the win.
***GMG.com crashes.  Harry brings it back up, & it crashes again the next day***
          NT: 27
          Arkansas: 23
9/22  @Liberty - This game should look very similar to Incarnate Word.   Should be quite a few reserves seeing 2nd-half action.
          NT: 49
          Liberty: 14
9/29   Louisiana Tech - Apogee will be electric after a boom in ticket sales for this game after the Arkansas win.  LATech will be coming to town licking wounds from a loss to LSU.  They'll be looking to bounce back and set a tone for conference play.  Unfortunately for them, NT is a buzzsaw, oozing confidence.  Still, it will be a good game.
         NT: 31
         LATech: 24
10/6  @UTEP - UTEP is not a good team.  Their already-putrid offense will have a very difficult time trying to understand Chico's playbook.   Once again, look for reserves here as UNT jumps out early & cruises.
         NT: 45
         UTEP: 17
10/13  Southern Miss - The fear will be apparent on the faces of the Golden Eagles.  They'll put up much more of a fight than UTEP though.
        NT: 38
        SoMS: 20
10/20 @UAB - Bold prediction... the Blazers will come into this game undefeated as well.   Therefore, lots of eyes will be on this game.   They want the win & believe they can do it.   This is going to be a DOGFIGHT.  Defense does just enough.
       NT: 34
       UAB: 27

***8-0 UNT breaks into the Top 25 when the poll is released on 10/22, for the first time since the Fry era.***
***Seth Littrell's name begins surfacing as "connected to" several P5 programs that are off to slow starts.***

10/27  Rice (Homecoming) - Just what the doctor ordered after a very hectic week of the hype train being in town.  Apogee is sold out & the parking lots are ridiculously full DURING THE GAME because not everyone can get in. Rice is still trying to regain their form.  They'll come to a packed Apogee & roll over quickly.
       NT: 42
       Rice: 13
11/3  BYE - Comes at the right time for the Mean Green.  Too much noise around the program as we climb a couple of notches in the poll.  Littrell noise continues to get loud & distract fans... but not the team.
11/10  @ODU - Old Dominion is barely clinging to life when NT rolls into town.   2 weeks worth of off-field frustrations are taken out on the poor Monarchs.
      NT: 56
      ODU: 21
11/15  Florida Atlantic - The mid-week game will no-doubt be a doozy.   FAU likely comes in with 2 (maybe 3) losses & getting AP votes as well.  The midweek disruptions to FAU's routine and a completely sold-out, rocking, Apogee are enough to get the Mean Green a Thursday night Win.  The team feels a sense of accomplishment after getting this monkey off their back.
     NT:  28
     FAU: 24
11/24  @UTSA - If UTSA is fighting for their bowl-game lives with only 5 wins, they're going to give everything they have to win this game.  If they only have 4 wins, they'll come out swinging, but bow out early.   I'm betting on the latter.  They have a brutal non-conference schedule, as Baylor will exact revenge for last year's loss.
     NT: 49
     UTSA: 21

***NT finishes the regular season with a 12-0 Record and a #14 ranking in the AP poll.***
***They host the C-USA Championship game against... you guessed it... FAU.***
***The Littrell talk is louder than ever & his name is connected with several programs, but there is smoke coming from 1 or 2 P5 schools.***

12/1   C-USA CHAMPIONSHIP   FAU(2.0) - Apogee is rocking.  Sold out for the 4th time this season.  FAU will be more prepared this time & will shatter NT's dreams of an undefeated season/NYE6 Bowl/"National Championship", as the off-the-field pressures & FAU's adjustments overcome the Mean Green.
      NT: 27
      FAU: 38

***NT tumbles to #24 in the rankings & is leapfrogged by FAU @ #22.  Depending on what happens in MWC & AAC, FAU may get the Fiesta/Peach Bowl spot.***
***ESPN drools over the prospect of getting a ranked NT to play Texas in the Texas Bowl in Houston after Texas finishes with 6 or 7 wins.  They pull strings to make it happen.***

12/27  Texas Bowl - VS Texas.  A disinterested Texas.  A rejuvenated NT coached by... SETH LITTRELL after he signs a $2Million/yr deal due to the greatest blessing in disguise of losing the C-USA championship game: P5 suitors getting spooked by the loss in the title game.   Completing the Cinderella season with a win to avenge the 1988 robbery.
       NT: 38
       TX: 31

***NT finishes the year 13-1 & a #19 ranking in the AP top 25***

***It's an INSANE season for Guyton, who unfortunately declares for the draft & is taken in the 4th round.***
***Rod Young is also taken in the 6th round.  Kemon Hall & EJ Ejiya get UDFA deals.***
***Mason Fine is C-USA POY & finishes 2nd or 3rd for the Davey O'Brien.   He returns for his Senior season in 2019!***

NT 45 - SMU 42 - One defensive stand late is the difference.

NT 28 - IW 13 - Our starters will not even see a half of football so the score will be closer than anyone expects but it will not be close.

NT 28 - ARK 27 - A late turnover will make the diffrence

NT 38 - LU 10 - Game will be in hand by the end of the half and LU will score in the 4th quarter

LaTech 42 - NT 38 - we come out flat as a horny toad on the highway (we will come back after a flat 1st half and make it a game but come up short).

NT 50 - Utep 14 - No let down and a safety in the kicking game.

NT 35 - SoMiss 32 - #Hit6 in a nail biter. Defense wins the game on the last drive

UAB 42 - NT 35 - Slow start kills us - Fine gets a stinger in his throwing arm and is benched in the second half as a precaution and the game slips away.

NT - 63 - Rice 14 - 7 TD passes by Fine 2 TD by the defense - the shoulder is fine and Fine is still pissed about not playing in the 4th quarter against UAB

NT - 35 - ODU 7 - again our starters do not see the second half.

NT 56 - FAU 35 - They will be on their 3rd qb and struggling we pull away in the 3rd quarter.

UTSA 49 - NT - 45 - I hate UTSA and this will suck as those roadkill bastards eliminate us from the C-USA Championship game again! Late dive play up the middle catches us in a blitz 60+ yards.

NT 35 - Iowa/NW 28 to win the Servpro First Responder Bowl on December 26th in the Cotton Bowl - We will beat Iowa (Northwestern if Iowa falls apart) on the last play of the game in what will become known as The Drive 2.0!

10-3 for the season we will not be ranked in the top 25 but will receive votes.

*****   Bonus  ******  SL will be offered 2 P5 HC positions but declines. He ill be rumored for several Kansas, Illinois, and Texas Tech. However he turns down NC as Fedora can not get the offense running after a certain OC left a few years ago. The second he shoots down at the rumor stage is Colorado as MacIntyre's world collapses around him and is out by Thanksgiving, SL's name will resurface again right before the bowl (as he takes a family trip to Colorado for Thanksgiving that is made public in mid Dec by the Iowa booster that rented him his VRBO) only to decline Colorado a second time right before the bowl game inspiring The Drive 2.0!  He comes back for 2019 with a stacked offense and ends up in the top 25 with a 1 loss season.  SL strongly considers leaving after the 2019 season when Orgeron is fired at LSU, but UNT realizing an increase in enrollment, success in all sports, and a spike in donations to all departments decides to up the salary to keep SL. My crystal ball gets fuzzy as to whether or not he takes the job but the mist in the ball has some purple and yellow as well as the normal green and white.  There is something about a million dollars in there as well, I hope that is the raise and not the diffrence in the offers...
