So does CUSA just scrap new conference scheduling idea? The NET will eliminate any positives of top teams playing each other and it will actually do more harm overall.

It may still be beneficial but obviously someone is going to have to do the math to figure it out.

Will it? That’s not the vibe I got from reading the article. It sounds to me like the new CUSA scheduling would be beneficial for RPI and NET

At least most people could understand RPI as imperfect as it was.  This one sounds like no one besides the number crunchers will understand.

It sounds like it'll be pretty accurate though.

Unless the NCAA releases the formula it will take some time to reverse engineer it. If the NCAA regularly releases the ratings the math dudes having the same data will be able to figure out the formula or closely approximate it. Ideally the NCAA would go ahead and release the formula and give the conferences an opportunity to run simulations of their own and suggest changes.

The NCCA will be able to pick the teams they want, that will be the math.

You know, that no matter what the value is in the end, committee members will still simply ignore it if it is inconvenient to getting more big conference teams in.

I do not like the "smart" schedule at the end or MBB regular season. I am in two organizations with annual fund raisers during that time, and cannot make plans.
