I read the Athlon article referenced...

After reading the comments regarding the other "top half" teams in both the east and the west....

I came away with this:

The rest of the conference does not think favorably of UNT and aren't scared of them compared to the other front runners....

They LOVE La Tech....LOVE UAB.....but basically UNT is a fun offensive team but nothing else

 

This is a good thing

I like the way they think. Keep them complacent.

Totally agree.  Especially La. Tech.  They think we were a fluke last year!

The knock on the defense was a valid comment and was said with kid gloves on. Defensively, we were a joke. An unfunny joke. Hopefully we'll be less of one in 2018. That's TBD and IMO easily the biggest uncertainty going into the season.

We just field a mediocre defense this year and we’re in serious business. Our offense is gonna be sick.

      🙄 like I have stated before DC under a lame duck coach is not a highly desired job for coaches with options.

      That is very subjective. Boise State or UNLV probably will get the G5 spot in the playoff over a one loss Army team. Louisville, SMU, Houston, Rutgers and Cincinnati left conference for greener pastures. So I don’t know who anointed the AAC as 5th, but the playoff committee isn’t listening to them. Army, a team brand new to the conference that came into the conference and dominated. They were independent juggernauts last year at 6-6 🙄. AAC is viewed as better than the MAC, CUSA and Sun Belt. But we certainly won’t be viewed as better than the reconstructed PAC 12 and right now it doesn’t look like we are viewed better than the current MWC.

      Football at The Dat next wrekend

      Don't if y'all know this or not.....but the last two years we've had Texas high school football games played in Louisiana. Both years the games have been at Turpin Stadium in Natchitoches. As a matter of fact, this year they hosted two games on the same day. (Daingerfield versus Newton, and Texarkana versus Port Neches Grove). Both games were last Friday.
