Nebraska was great last season and their coach didn't deserve to be fired, but why would they put a D-1AA team on their schedule? Yeah its the opener, but that is just asking for trouble... imagine what it would mean if they lose and what it doesn't mean if they win. They have more to lose in this game than I think they have looked at. On the bright side this is good for Willinois.

It's a tune up. Nothing more, nothing less. Lots of play time to develop younger, less experienced players.

W. Illinois is a ton better than the crap teams we had scheduled a few years back (Samford and Nicholls St.). The Leathernecks may not beat Nebraska but I would bet they could beat several of the teams in the Sun Belt and they will more than likely be one of the Top 1-AA teams once again this year.

It's not like Nebraska scheduling a D1AA is a first, it happens quite frequently. Kansas State had like two or three games against weak opponents last season and they still went on to win the Big 12.
