This just in...In the lobby of the Mean Joe Greene Dorm there will be 2 vending machines.  One will dispense Cokes (really, you can have it) and the other sweaty game worn jerseys (Hey kid.  Catch !).

Idea for discussion:  How difficult would it be to rename Victory Hall after Mr. Greene?  It seems more appropriate at that location.  Thoughts?

I like that the idea of naming a non athletic building after Mean Joe Greene. I’ll be bold and say that most student athletes would be aware of who he is. Non student athletes who don’t know who he is may look up his history out of curiosity, based on the fact that they live in the dorm. A perfect opportunity to spread athletic culture and history.

I agree. He was a great athlete, but he was also the first African-American regent for the university and his contributions to UNT go beyond what he did on the field.
