It does, and I hate to see him go, but I think everyone kind of saw this coming. I am pleased A.J. was part of the CBI Championship and wish him nothing but the best moving forward. I really appreciate how they are both handling this, as it can't be easy, as this will serve them well wherever they end up.

Was hoping he stuck it out one more year and see if things got better after the surgery, but I guess he saw the writing on the wall. By the end of the season you could see him tuning out McCasland when he was ripping into him.

At this point, let's hope we don't complete the trifecta with Holston, or someone else, making an announcement.

I agree, but watching how things played out late in the season, Lawson will be the one missed the most. While I appreciate all of their efforts, I am excited to see how Simmons, Tikohenko fill in and Gibson's return. We are headed in the right direction.

I think it hurts more experience-wise than depth-wise. I'm pretty confident Mccasland will fill his spot with someone who fits the offense better (can shoot) and has decent length. I also wonder if with the open spots we might go after Tremell Murphy and his twin brother. Murphy has an Oregon offer but if we offer both that could be an advantage for us if we could bring them both on.

At least with regards to his comments to the DRC, Lawson definitely appears to be going out with class. That is refreshing to see in this day. Best of luck to him in the future.

We were all expecting big things from AJ this year. Unfortunately with his wrist, those expectations weren't met.

Hope he gets to transfer to a good school, and not one we'll be playing any time soon.

I'm glad he was able to play here. Really bummed he wont finish here, but he is doing what he thinks best for himself... Gotta respect that!

he always look out of control buy made the basket. I wish he would stay but best of luck to him. Fuller was the enforcer on the team. Hope we have two in the wings.

UNT definitely loses a legit player, and yet, this may still turn out to be good for everyone. He may end up at a place on the same level where he can shine, and the coach gets some roster flexibility which he may actually have needed I feel.

Definitely think we will. I think it's best for everyone. It was clear in CBI run we were better without Holston and Lawson. Both are talented but it wasn't a fit. I get the sense the coaches encouraged Lawson and Fuller to find another program. Not because it was contentious but the players could find a better fit as could the program. Makes sense. My bet is the same will be for Holston

I think Brett does a credible job for UNT. Do I always agree with him? Nope. But, it is not his job to try to make all us “homers” agree with him nor is it his job to “pump up” UNT. His job is to report. He does a more than decent job of that and we are very fortunate to have a reporter from the DRC assigned to UNT sports. Trust me..I travel a good bit and I read a lot of “local” sports pages and beat writers. When I tell you we could do much much worse...trust me. And, my personal experience and observational sample tells me...agree with him or not...that Brett does a good job.
